Three Salt-Glazed Stoneware Jugs, Northeastern U.S. origin, first half 19th century, all of ovoid form, a small-sized example with iron-dipped base, stamped "CHARLESTOWN," Frederick Carpenter, Charlestown, MA, circa 1812-1827; a one-gallon example, stamped "S. RISLEY / NORWICH," CT origin, circa 1840; and a three-gallon jug, stamped "LOAMMI KENDALL / CHELSEA," MA origin, second quarter 19th century. Charlestown jug with an in-the-firing loss to spout and significant staining. Risley jug with light surface wear and a 1 1/4" in-the-firing loss to handle, which is partially glazed over. Kendall jug with a spout chip, base chips, and a gold-painted surface. H (of shortest) 10 1/4".
