Two Troy, NY Stoneware Advertising Jugs, NY State origin, fourth quarter 19th century, each of cylindrical form with tapered spout, one featuring the slip-trailed inscription, "James J.. Duffy / Troy N.Y.;" the other featuring the stenciled advertising, "A. McCUSKER & SON. / 28 & 30 DIVISION ST. / TROY, N.Y." Provenance: Wiliam Bouck Collection. Shorter with a star-shaped spider line on reverse, emanating from a small surface chip, two minor nicks to interior of spout, a 4 3/4" line across underside, and some wear to cobalt. Taller in excellent condition with a minor glazed-over spout chip. H (of taller) 11 1/2".
