Two Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Crocks, New England origin, second half 19th century, a four-gallon crock with cobalt design of a crested bird on elaborate branch, attributed to Ballardvale, MA, paired with a three-gallon crock with brushed vine and flowering plant designs. Taller with rim chips, two chips to proper right handle, some exfolation to body, and a significant spider crack to underside, extending up reverse and running horizontally at midsection onto proper left side of crock. The spider crack also forms a long T at base. Other crock with tight cracks in underside, including two extending 3" and 2" up front of crock. H (of taller) 11".
