Two-Piece Molded Stoneware Water Cooler, Marked "PERFECTION FILTER / Manufactured by The / CENTRAL N.Y. Pottery / UTICA N.Y.," late 19th century, curvaceous form with winged sea serpent handles and original drain hole in underside, decorated on the front with two cherubs holding a banner, inscribed "PERFECTION FILTER / Manufactured by The / CENTRAL N.Y. Pottery / UTICA N.Y.." Reverse with relief bust of a woman with headband and earring. Separate base decorated with relief floral medallions. Bristol-slip-glazed surface with cobalt highlights throughout. Cooler in very nice condition with a 1" post-firing base chip, a few other small base chips, mostly in-the-firing, a short vertical line at base, and in-the-firing fissures in underside, not visible on interior. Base with large section reglued, a large Y-shaped crack from rim, a 2 1/4" chip to its rim, and other small chips. H 15".
