Rare Three-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Clover Decoration, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1885, ovoid pitcher with footed base, tooled body, and slightly-flared collar with rounded rim, brush-decorated on the front with a double-stemmed clover motif. Vertical stripe decoration flanking the spout and horizontal stripe around base of collar. Albany slip coating on interior, highly unusual for Baltimore stoneware. Exceptional size. Water glass staining to exterior and interior. Otherwise excellent condition with a partially glazed-over base chip. H 14".
