Large-Sized Redware Plate with Two-Color-Slip Tulip Motif, Dryville, PA origin, 19th century, with coggled edge, the lead-glazed interior decorated with a large tulip blossom in copper and manganese slip. An unusually large plate for this design and maker. Heavy chipping and staining around rim. A thin 7" crack from edge. Light surface wear to interior. Diam. 11 1/2".
