Two-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Stenciled "THOMPSON WILLIAMS & / CO / MORGANTOWN. / W. VA.," circa 1875, semi-ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded rim, featuring Thompson, Williams & Company maker's stenciling with freehand stripe above and cobalt-script "2" with flourishes below. A 3" fork-shaped crack from rim on interior, partially visible on exterior. An in-the-firing stone ping to front. H 12 1/4".
