Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "ALBANY, N.Y," probably O'Connell Pottery, Albany, NY, circa 1860, semi-ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a stylized slip-trailed flower blossom with spiraling interior above a spiraling line. Slip-trailed "2" above. Provenance: William Bouck Collection. A 1 1/4" rim chip on reverse. Small chips and wear to inner rim for lid. Some light staining to surface. A shallow 3 1/4" dent to base on reverse, which occurred in the making and is glazed over. A faint, approximately 4" Y-shaped line to proper right side of jar. H 11 1/4".
