Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jug, Stamped "C. CROLIUS / MANUFACTURER / MANHATTAN-WELLS / NEW-YORK.," early 19th century, ovoid jug with footed base, heavily-tooled spout, and rounded mouth, brush-decorated with a wreath around the maker's mark. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and handle terminals. Heavy chipping to foot. In-the-firing spider lines emanating from an iron ping on proper left side, including an in-the-firing contact mark below. Some very tight lines to surface, which appear to be surface-level only. A 1 1/2" line on underside, continuing 3 1/4" up reverse. Some staining. H 14 1/4".
