Extremely Rare Handled Tanware Bank, New Geneva or Greensboro, PA origin, circa 1885, sculpturally-potted, ovoid form with raised moldings to shoulder, tall, tapering finial, and applied strap handle, Albany-slip-decorated with a drape pattern to upper body, three finely-brushed fuchsias around the midsection, and a dipped band around the base. Carved coin slot at shoulder. Among the most imaginatively-crafted examples of Western Pennsylvania tanware that we have seen, potted in a highly desirable bank form.
