Rare Small-Sized Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Pitcher with Iron Slip Decoration, attributed to Thomas Chandler, Edgefield District, SC, circa 1845, bulbous pitcher with footed base, flared collar, and grooved handle, decorated with slip-trailed iron-slip swag motifs around the midsection and collar against a green alkaline-glazed ground. Desirable form, size, decoration, and maker, featuring an attractive, high luster glaze. Two spout chips. Otherwise excellent condition. H 7 1/4".
