Two Pieces of Salt-Glazed Stoneware, Strasburg, VA origin, circa 1880, a one-gallon ovoid jar, stamped "T. GRIM / STRASBURG, VA", circa 1880, paired with a cylindrical jar, stamped "KEISTER & SONNER / STRASBURG, VA", circa 1866-1869. Provenance: From a fifty-year VA collection; Grim jar purchased by the consignor's parents at the estate auction of Ola P. Hooker, Berryville, VA, Sept. 5, 1981. Grim jar with two long cracks from rim and a long Y-shaped crack ascending from underside, numerous rim chips, and residue and varnish to surface. Other jar with chips and wear to rim and small chips. H (of T. Grim jar) 7 1/8".
