Albany-Slip-Glazed Stoneware Canning Jug, Stamped "THOMAS NORTON," possibly Norton Family, Bennington, VT, circa 1875, wide-mouthed, semi-ovoid jug with Albany-slip-glazed surface, the shoulder impressed with the name, "THOMAS NORTON." Includes likely-original wooden stopper. Provenance: From a fifty-year VA collection. Chips and wear to mouth. A few minuscule nicks to handle. H (excluding stopper) 9".
