Large-Sized Molded Stoneware Advertising Punch Bowl, Marked "BARDWELL'S ROOT BEER," attributed to White's Pottery, Utica, NY, late 19th century, ovoid form on pedestal base and rare perforated ice receptacle on interior, decorated with various relief classical designs and stars, impressed on the front and reverse with the words, "BARDWELL'S PATENT PENDING," at the rim and "ROOT BEER" in a star below. Bristol-slip-glazed surface with cobalt highlights throughout. Provenance: James Chebalo Collection. A 2" loss to rim of ice receptacle. Otherwise excellent condition. Diam. 19 1/8" ; H 10 5/8".
