Stoneware Jar with Floral Decoration, Stamped "C. BOYNTON & CO. / TROY," NY State origin, circa 1825-1829, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, flared collar, and applied lug handles, brush-decorated with a curved blossom emanating from a leafy stem. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and handle terminals. Provenance: William Bouck Collection. Rim chips. A thin 6" crack from rim on reverse. A 2 1/4" Y-shaped line on reverse. A 2" line from rim on proper right side of jar. H 11 1/8".
