Two Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jugs, Northeastern U.S. origin, late 18th to mid 19th century, a one-gallon ovoid jug with heavily-tooled spout, decorated with a brushed drape motif, Manhattan, NY origin, late 18th to early 19th century; paired with two-gallon jug with elaborate brushed floral motif, attributed to Abial Price, Middletown Point, NJ, circa 1840. Smaller with in-the-firing spout chips, a significant spider crack ascending base, in-the-firing flaws to surface, a small chip to underside, and some surface wear. Price jug with chips to spout, black paint to top of spout, long, thin cracks ascending base, and some in-the-firing flaws. H (of smaller) 12".
