Four-Gallon Lidded Stoneware Water Cooler with Well Scene, attributed to The Robinson Clay Products Co., Akron, OH, early 20th century, molded barrel-form cooler with relief decoration of a woman standing at a well surrounded by an early American homestead scene, flanked by leafy stalks. Reverse with relief flower bouquet decoration. Light cobalt glaze to body with heavier cobalt applied to relief designs. Domed lid includes a foliate vine surrounding a floral-decorated knob. Marked in black with a number "5" within a crown on underside. Cooler in very nice condition with a 2 1/2" hairline from rim on reverse, a minor chip to molding on proper left side and some residue from use to surface. Lid with losses and some residue from use to surface. H (including lid) 15 3/4".
