Three Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jars, Northeastern U.S. origin, second half 19th century, all of cylindrical form, a three-gallon jar with slip-trailed flowering urn motif, stamped "J. & E. NORTON / BENNINGTON VT," circa 1855; a two-gallon jar with brushed and slip-trailed vine motif, stamped "WHITE & WOOD, / BINGHAMTON, N.Y.," circa 1885; and a one-gallon lidded jar with bird on branch motif, attributed to Brady & Ryan, Ellenville, NY, circa 1885. Norton jar broken in half in reglued, with significant additional cracks and exfoliation, as well as some painted touch-up to cobalt, the interior of its rim with a painted chip and some wear. White & Wood jar with loss to rim, significant rim chips, a surface crack to underside, two short, thin cracks from rim, two chips to proper right handle, and staining. Bird jar with some fry to cobalt, small chip to interior of rim, and small chips to inner rim for lid, and minor chipping to underside along edge, its lid with a hairline. H (of largest) 13 1/4".
