Three Pieces of Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware, Northeastern U.S. origin, third quarter 19th century, a two-gallon advertising jug with slip-trailed crested bird-on-branch motif, stamped "S J. &. A WOOD, / SPRINGFIELD CENTRE, N. Y., " attributed to J. & E. Norton, Bennington, VT; a three-gallon crock with slip-trailed crested bird with spotted body, perched on a flowering branch, stamped "WHITES UTICA;" and a one-gallon jug with slip-trailed standing bird motif, stamped "WHITE'S UTICA." Advertising jug with significant restoration, not affecting decoration, and some bubbling to cobalt. White's Utica jug with restored handle, minor in-the-firing flaws, and minor chips to bottom edge, one of which is glazed over. White's Utica crock with significant restoration around base and on underside. H (of tallest) 14 1/2".
