Rare Small-Sized Redware Lady's Cuspidor, Stamped "JOHN BELL," Waynesboro, PA origin, circa 1840-1880, ovoid form with footed base, tall flaring collar, and applied handle, the lead-glazed surface features streaked manganese against an olive ground with orange spotting. Impressed with John Bell maker's mark on underside. Exceptional form and size. Two colored rim chips. A few minuscule spots of glaze loss to rim. H 3 1/2" ; Diam. 4".
