Scarce Multi-Glazed Redware Urn, attributed to J. Eberly & Co., Strasburg, VA, circa 1890, ovoid form with tooled banding near base and at shoulder, flared collar with doubly-coggled rim, and highly unusual handles in the form of scrolled leaves with incised veining and pointed terminals. Surface dipped in cream-colored slip, decorated with splashed copper and manganese, and covered in a clear lead glaze. Most of one handle restored. Chips and wear to rim. A 4" crack from rim above one handle. Various flakes to surface. H 13 3/4".
