Half-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "B.C. MILBURN," Wilkes Street Pottery, Alexandria, VA origin, circa 1850, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and squared rim, brush-decorated with an Wilkes-Street-style floral motif with circular blossom featuring sprigs extending to the left and right. Four foliate motifs around shoulder on remainder of jar. Excellent condition with a small in-the-firing chip to rim, a few minor post-firing nicks to rim, a minor in-the-firing nick to bottom edge, and a small in-the-firing contact mark at base. H 7 3/4".
