One-and-a-Half-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Batter Pail, Stamped "T.G. DAUB / EASTON, PA," circa 1885, late 19th century, ovoid form with tubular pouring spout, applied clay tabs with wood-and-wire bail handle, and handle at base on reverse, brush-decorated with floral petals around the spout and highlights to the applied tabs. Includes tin lid. Very nice condition with three small chips to handle on reverse, light staining to reverse, and some wear to tops of clay tabs from contact with the wire handle. H (excluding lid) 9 1/2".
