Two-Gallon Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Jug, "D S," Daniel Seagle, Vale, NC, circa 1840, ovoid jug with tooled spout, the surface covered in a dark-olive alkaline glaze with darker runs descending from the shoulder. Very nice condition. A narrow flake to front, possibly in-the-firing. A small in-the-firing ping to spout. H 13 1/2".
