Five Pieces of Stoneware, American, circa 1830-early 1900s, four Northeastern examples with Albany slip glazes: an ovoid jug, circa 1830; a tankard pitcher, stamped "VINEGAR," circa 1875; a smaller tankard pitcher, second half 19th century; and a syrup jug; and a brown-and-white jug, early 20th century. Literature: Syrup jug illustrated in "Stoneware, Prized Ware of Old Time Potters," The Encyclopedia of Collectables, Time Life Books, Alexandria, VA, 1980. Ovoid jug, vinegar pitcher, and syrup jug all in excellent, essentially as-made condition. Smaller syrup jug with chip to underside at edge. Brown-and-white jug with one spout chip, small base chips, clay residue to underside, and traces of old white paint to surface. H (of Ellenville batter pail) 9 1/2".
