Two Stoneware Crocks with Cobalt Chicken Pecking Corn Decoration, NY State origin, circa 1875, three- and four-gallon examples, both of cylindrical form with semi-rounded rims and applied lug handles, each featuring a slip-trailed design of a pecking chicken atop a stylized ground. One with significant restoration that has started to peel, as well as fry to cobalt and hairlines to underside. The other with significant flaking, large rim chips, and hairlines. H 10 1/2".
