Rare Slip-Decorated Redware Sugar Bowl, PA origin, 19th century, ovoid form with open loop handles, decorated around the body with crossed lines of wavy yellow slip, separating comma-shaped manganese daubs. Original domed lid with yellow and manganese slip line decoration. Surface of bowl and lid covered in a clear lead glaze. Bowl with wear and some restoration to rim, wear to handles, and areas of restoration to slip. Lid with large restored section and some wear to knob. H (including lid) 5 3/4" ; Diameter (across top) 6 1/2".
