Fine Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Elaborate Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "N. CLARK & Co. / ROCHESTER. N Y.", circa 1850, ovoid jug with tapered spout, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a flowering plant bearing two different flowers, the right blossom with spotted accents to the interior. Slip-trailed number "2" above. Light cobalt highlight to maker's mark. Restoration to handle, which was broken into sections. Otherwise excellent condition with a small in-the-firing iron ping to base.
