Unusual Pair of One-Gallon Stoneware Jars with Cobalt Chain Link Decoration, attributed to B.C. Milburn, Alexandria, VA, circa 1850, each of similar ovoid form with tooled shoulder, applied lug handles, and semi-rounded rim, decorated on the front and reverse with bold slip-trailed cobalt chain link motifs. Slightly-shorter jar with a thin 4 1/4" crack from rim. Other jar with two 3" vertical lines at base, which do not appear to be visible on the interior, as well as a thin, 2 3/4" inverted Y-shaped crack from rim.
