Three-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "WHITE'S UTICA", New York State origin, circa 1865, cylindrical crock with semi-rounded rim and applied lug handles, decorated with a large slip-trailed design of a fan-tailed bird "running" atop a stylized branch. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Chips to one handle and interior of rim. Shallow, in-the-firing chipping to bottom edge. Some minor flaking to underside.
