One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jug with Stenciled Shield Motif, Stenciled "HAMILTON & JONES / GREENSBORO. PA", circa 1875, ovoid jug with tooled spout, decorated with a large stenciled shield surrounding the firm name "HAMILTON & JONES". A freehand stripe and two stenciled stars above. Small hairline extending from base on front. An in-the-firing horizontal separation at lower handle terminal.
