Fine Half-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Drape Decoration, Stamped "C. CROLIUS / MANUFACTURER / NEW YORK", circa 1810, ovoid jug with heavily-tooled spout, decorated around the shoulder with a scalloped drape design accented with spots. Brushed cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Impressed with Clarkson Crolius oval maker's mark at shoulder. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with a minor in-the-firing contact mark to body and two very minor base chips, at least one of which occurred in the firing. H 9".
