Rare Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Alexandria, VA Advertising, Stamped "P. HERRMANN". Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1875, semi-ovoid jug with tooled spout, impressed with the cobalt-highlighted advertising "W.F. HENDERSON / NO. 30 NORTH ROYAL ST / ALEXANDRIA. VA". Impressed with Peter Herrmann maker's mark on top of shoulder. Essentially as-made condition with a recessed area to reverse, a few smooth in-the-firing contact marks, a bloated spot to reverse near base, and some minor in-the-firing separations on underside.
