Four-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "W.H. LEHEW & CO. / STRASBURG, VA", circa 1870, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, squared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated on the front and reverse with three tulips emanating from a leafy stem. Brushed cobalt highlights to handle terminals. A restored curving crack extending from underside up one side of jar and through left corner of Lehew maker's mark. A small horizontal, in-the-firing line at base, not visible on interior.
