Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Double Bird Decoration, Stamped "S. HART / FULTON", New York State, circa 1860, cylindrical jug with tapered spout, decorated with slip-trailed design of two crossed birds with spotted bodies and cobalt-highlighted wings. Slip-trailed "2" to left of decoration. Slip-trailed highlights through maker's mark. A recessed in-the-firing contact mark to front. Some fry to cobalt. Mottling to clay.
