Two Small-Sized Stoneware Jars with New York City Advertising, Northeastern U.S. origin, 19th century, one with cylindrical form and salt-glazed surface, impressed with the cobalt-highlighted advertising "RICHARD CAMPBELL / 54 4TH AVE NY"; other with semi-ovoid form and Albany-slip-glazed surface, impressed "WILLIAM PARTRIDGE & SON, / NO 27 CHESTNUT ST NY". Smaller jar with staining to surface, a 3" crack from rim on front, including a small chip and tiny nick along crack, a 1 1/4" line from rim on reverse, two 3/4" hairlines at base, and a 7/8" chip on interior of rim. Larger jar with significant, deep surface flakes to underside, extending to bottom edge, and additional minor surface wear. H (of smaller jar) 4 3/4".
