Three Pieces of Mocha Pottery, made by English potters, John Smith and Evan Wileman, circa 1976, a pair of creamware salt and pepper shakers with mocha decoration, handmade by John Smith, a former instructor in Ceramic Technology at Midlands, England; paired with a yellowware jar with mocha decoration, handmade by retired turner, Evan Wileman, former employer of T.G. Green & Company, Church-Gresly, Derbyshire County, England. Both the pair of shakers and the jar were made in 1976, during a time when John Smith was studying and attempting to replicate the mocha-decorating techniques of early English potters. The yellow ware jar was made by Wileman at the request of Smith. The shakers were a gift to the consignor from Smith. Three well-crafted copies of early mocha-decorated ceramics. All in mint condition. H (of shakers) 4 3/4".
