Unusual Manganese-Glazed Redware Jar, probably TN origin, early to mid 19th century, ovoid jar with tall collar, semi-rounded rim, and distinctive ribbed-strap handles with depressed terminals and midsection, the surface covered in a dark-brown lead-and-manganese glaze. Impressed with four-pointed stamp at shoulder. Provenance: Ex-Doug Fuller Collection. A 2 3/4" chipped section to rim. A 7/8" chip to interior of rim. Heavy chipping to edge of one handle. A 3/4" in-the-firing chip to underside at edge. A 1" glazed-over, in-the-firing base chip. A few other minor chips to underside along bottom edge. H 15".
