Glazed Redware Jar, probably Eastern TN origin, second or third quarter 19th century, semi-ovoid jar with footed base, tooled shoulder, and distinctive stepped rim, the surface covered in a mottled lead-and-iron glaze. Very nice condition. Some light surface wear to shoulder. A minor in-the-firing contact mark and a minor in-the-firing ping to shoulder. A few minor glaze flakes to shoulder area, most or all of which appear to be in-the-firing. Foot with a 3/4" chip and minor chip. H 9 3/8".
