Outstanding Glazed Redware Pitcher with Manganese Slash Decoration, Eastern TN origin, fourth quarter 19th century, semi-ovoid pitcher with tall, flaring collar, the surface decorated with elaborate slashed manganese brushwork and covered in a clear lead glaze. Wonderful decoration. A 2 3/4" x 3/4" loss to rim on reverse. Wear to rim. H 8 1/4".
