Stoneware Swirl Pitcher, Stamped "E.W. REINHARDT / VALE, N.C.," circa 1935, squat-shaped, ovoid pitcher with flared rim, composed of swirled clay covered in a clear glaze with rutile accents. Impressed on underside with Enoch Reinhardt maker's mark. Provenance: Carole Wahler states the following in her notes about this pitcher: "Probably a record price, but an unusually nice example with swirl handle. From the collection of Milton Block." Excellent, essentially as-made condition. H 6 1/8".
