Salt-Glazed Stoneware Jar, Stamped "JC," John Wesley Carpenter, Piper's Gap, Carroll County, VA, fourth quarter 19th century, cylindrical jar with tooled and rounded shoulder and flaring rim, the surface dipped in whitish slip and covered in a salt glaze.
