Salt-Glazed Stoneware Sugar Jar with Lid, Bristol Area of TN origin, circa 1860-1890, ovoid form with narrow, slightly-flared collar and two bands of incised straight-and-wavy line decoration to body. Includes original flattened lid with robust, finely-turned finial. Provenance: Purchased by Wahler in Glade Springs. Jar in excellent condition with a small in-the-firing rim chip. A 3" x 1 1/4" restored section to lid. H (including lid) 8".
