Salt-Glazed Stoneware Jug with Dramatic Glaze Runs, attributed to the Craven Family, probably John Anderson Craven, Randolph County, NC, mid 19th century, ovoid jug with heavily-tooled shoulder, semi-rounded mouth, and thick, heavily-ribbed handle with pointed lower terminal. Salt-glazed surface features profuse glaze runs descending around the entire shoulder area. Among the more beautifully-glazed Craven jugs that we have offered. Excellent condition with a small chip to interior of spout. H 14 1/4".
