Three Pieces of Stoneware, American, 19th century, a one-gallon jar with cobalt-highlighted maker's mark, stamped "S PURDY / PORTAGE Co. / OHIO;" a salt-glazed canning jar, stamped "ADAMS, ALLISON & CO. / MANUFACTURERS. / MIDDLEBURY SUMMIT CO. O.," with associated salt-glazed lid; and a molded jug with Albany slip glaze, embossed "WEEKS BRO S AKRON O," with paper label advertising for "CLEANING SOLVENT / DOWNS & MOORE / Cor. Main- Arthur Sts.." Jug with wear to label. Canning jar with a 7/8" flake and minor chip to inner wax sealer rim as well as a small in-the-firing chip to shoulder. Lid with a significant chip. Purdy jar with a few rim chips and some staining, and a 1 3/4" Y-shaped surface line to midsection, not visible on interior. H (of tallest) 9 3/4".
