Three-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar with Proctor, WV Advertising, Western PA origin, circa 1875, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, featuring the stenciled advertising, "WM.ROGERS & CO. / PROCTOR. / W . VA .," surrounding a stenciled "all-seeing eye" motif. Freehand stripe decoration to shoulder and base. Base with stenciled "3" flanked by flourishes. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Areas of restoration to surface, not affecting decoration. H 14".
