Outstanding Large-Sized Slip-Decorated Redware Loaf Dish, English origin, 19th century, rectangular form with rounded corners, the lead-glazed interior boldly decorated with seven wide bands of yellowish slip, each composed of overlapping vertical and wavy horizontal trails. Exceptional size and condition. Provenance: Ex-Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Blum, Willow Corners Antiques, Lisbon, CT. Excellent condition with a few minor rim nicks, minor surface-level wear to glaze on interior, and a few small in-the-firing flaws. L 21 5/8" ; W 16 1/4" ; H 2 7/8".
