Rare Manganese-Decorated Redware Flowerpot, Inscribed "Solomon Miller / May 14 / 1881," Adams County, PA origin, 1881, small-sized, flaring pot with semi-rounded rim, brush- decorated with bold vertical columns of manganese daubs under a clear lead glaze. Underside incised with script signature and date by Adams County, Pennsylvania potter, Solomon Miller. Original drain hole in underside. Flakes and wear to rim. A 3 1/2" crack from rim. Minor surface wear. H 4 1/8".
