Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Canning Jar with Jackson Courthouse, WV Advertising, Western PA origin, circa 1880, cylindrical jar with rounded shoulder and semi-rounded "wax sealer" rim, featuring the stenciled advertising, "GRAHAM & STONE. / GEN. MERCHANDISE. / JACKSON C.H. / W. VA." Freehand stripe decoration above and below. Includes old tin canning lid. Interior of rim with two small chips and a 3/4" flake. A shallow 9/16" chip to inner wax sealer rim. A minor spot of wear to end of one cobalt stripe. H 10 1/4".
