Cobalt-Stenciled Stoneware Canning Jar with Proctor, WV Advertising, Western PA origin, circa 1875, tapering jar with semi-rounded "wax sealer" rim, featuring the stenciled advertising, "MICHAEL MOORE / GEN. STORE / Proctor. W. Va.," including stenciled tulips and flourishes. A 5/8" chip to inner wax sealer rim and a smaller chip to interior of rim. A minor U-shaped surface line to rim on reverse. Some staining to surface. A minor in-the-firing ping near base. Some blistering to cobalt. H 10".
